The Questionnaire — build knowledge from your website

Updated October 30, 2026

The Questionnaire is the fastest way to teach the assistant about your business. We crawl your website, let the AI fill in a structured business questionnaire from what it finds, and then show you — precisely — what your website doesn't say.

That gap list is the valuable part. Every gap is a question your assistant can't answer yet.

How do I run a scan?

  1. Go to Knowledge → Questionnaire and click Scan a Website.
  2. Enter the website URL. The whole site is crawled from that address, up to 25 pages.
  3. Pick your Industry. This tailors the questions — industry-specific sections are added on top of the general set.
  4. Click Start Scan. Crawling and drafting takes a minute or two; you can leave the page and it keeps running.

The site must be a verified domain. We only crawl sites you control.

How do I fill the gaps?

Open Review & gap analysis. You'll see your completion (18/24 answered · 75% complete) and chips for each section with missing answers.

Turn on Show gaps only and work down the list. Anything the crawl couldn't find is marked "Not found on the website — add this detail." Type the answer and save.

If it's easier to do offline or hand around the team, use Export .docx, fill it in, and Import .docx it back. Import only accepts a file exported from this questionnaire — export a fresh copy rather than reusing an old one.

Do my edits survive a re-scan?

Yes. Re-scan fills remaining gaps from the site and keeps your edits. Use it after you've updated your website.

How do I make it live for the chatbot?

Toggle the questionnaire on as a chatbot source. It then appears in the Documents tab like any other knowledge source, and the assistant answers from it. Toggle it off and the assistant stops using it.

What else does a scan give me?

Two things you get for free once a questionnaire exists:

  • Chatbot rules are pre-filled with recommended defaults for your industry, based on the scan. They're suggestions — review and save to apply them. See Chatbot rules.
  • Competitor comparison — add up to three competitor sites and see what they cover better than you. See Comparing yourself to competitors.
