Everything about how the widget looks and what it asks for lives under Settings → Widget.
Appearance
- Bot / Agent Name — what the assistant is called (Support, Robin).
- Header Text — the title at the top of the chat panel. Overrides the agent name if you want them different; defaults to the agent name.
- Greeting Text — shown in the greeting bubble. "Hi! How can we help you today?"
- Primary Colour — your brand colour.
- Logo URL — shown inside the chat panel header.
- Launcher Button Icon — upload an image and crop it to the circle. Replaces the default chat-bubble icon on the floating button.
- Widget Position — which corner it sits in.
Can I greet visitors in their own language?
Yes. Greeting Text is a single string, so it can only be one language. Add a
per-language greeting under Translation Overrides (in Language &
Localisation) and each visitor gets greeted in their browser's language, falling
back to your Greeting Text when theirs isn't configured. See
Multilingual chat.
Pre-chat form fields
Pre-Chat Form Fields controls what visitors fill in before a chat starts: Visitor Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Initial Message. For each, choose whether it's visible and whether it's required, and optionally set a custom placeholder.
Hidden fields are also hidden from the offline message form.
Every required field costs you conversations. Requiring a phone number filters out people who would happily have given you an email. The usual sweet spot is name and email visible, message required, phone optional — and let AI lead capture get the rest in conversation, from the people who are actually engaged.
Where's the install snippet?
