AI lead capture

Updated October 29, 2026

Paid feature — available on Basic and Pro.

With AI lead capture on, the assistant doesn't just answer questions — it pursues a goal. It asks light qualifying questions where they fit, and when a visitor shares contact details it saves them to your Leads pipeline.

Turn it on under Settings → AI & Engagement → Chat Behaviour → AI lead capture.

What should I write as my lead goal?

Tell the assistant what a successful conversion looks like for your business. Be concrete:

  • Book a free 15-minute consultation.
  • Collect an email address so we can send a quote.
  • Get them to request a demo with their company name and team size.

Vague goals produce vague nudges. "Generate leads" tells it nothing; "book a free consultation" tells it exactly what to steer toward.

Will it become pushy?

No, by design:

  • It never blocks an answer to chase the goal. The visitor's question always gets answered first.
  • If a visitor declines, it doesn't ask again.

If it still feels too forward for your brand, add a chatbot rule constraining tone — rules apply to every reply, including the ones that pursue the goal.

Where do captured leads go?

Straight to Leads, with the transcript that produced them, their status, and an assignee. From there you can push them onward automatically — to a CRM, a spreadsheet, a webhook. See Routing leads to your other tools.

Can I capture details without the AI asking?

Yes — the pre-chat form collects name, email, and phone before the chat starts, and you choose which fields are visible and required. The two work well together: the form catches everyone, the AI catches the people who skipped it.
