The widget goes on your site with a single script tag. Find it under Settings → Widget → Install on your site, or on the last step of onboarding.
How do I add the widget to my website?
- Go to Settings → Widget and click Install on your site.
- On the Standard tab, click Copy snippet.
- Paste it into your site's HTML, just before the closing
</body>tag, on every page where the widget should appear. Most sites have a shared footer or layout template — put it there once. - Reload your site. The launcher bubble appears in the corner you chose under Widget Position.
The snippet carries your Server URL and API key, so there is nothing else to configure. The API key is a public embed key — it's meant to be visible in your page source.
How do I install it on WordPress?
Open the same Install on your site dialog and switch to the WordPress tab, then Download plugin. Install it from Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin in WordPress, activate it, and paste your Server URL and API key into its settings.
The plugin updates itself from WordPress when we ship new versions — you don't need to download it again.
The widget isn't showing up
Work through these in order:
- Check your verified domains. If you have verified at least one domain, the widget will only load on verified domains and their subdomains. Anywhere else it is blocked on purpose. Add every host it should run on, including staging. See Verifying your domain.
- Check the snippet is actually on the page. View source and search for the script tag. Caching plugins and CDNs often serve an older copy of your page — purge the cache.
- Check for a JavaScript error in your browser console that stops the page before our script runs.
Can I run it on more than one site?
Yes — but each website should normally be its own workspace, so its knowledge, conversations, and branding stay separate. If you manage sites for clients, look at the Agency program, which is built for exactly this.
