Daily goals and Learning Review
Two cards sit near the top of the Quiz tab. Both are optional — they suggest what to practise so the customer does not have to decide.
Today's Goal
A new goal is issued once a day. The card shows the goal's name, the levels it covers, and the requirement, for example:
Today's Goal: Perfect Tense Sprint At A2, B1 · Complete 10 questions in 5 min · Get 8 correct
Tapping Start runs the quiz with the goal's own category, question count, time limit and levels — the customer's own Quiz-tab settings are put aside for that session and restored afterwards.
Earning the goal
The goal is met when both conditions hold:
- The quiz was finished — every question answered, not cut off by the timer or ended with ✕.
- At least the required number of answers were correct.
When it is met, the card changes to Daily Goal Complete with the bonus XP shown, the Results screen shows a "Daily goal complete!" banner, and the bonus is added on top of the normal XP for the quiz.
If the goal is missed, the customer can simply tap Start again — there is no limit on attempts within the day.
Goal history
Once today's goal is complete, tapping the card opens Daily Goal History: a month calendar with one square per day.
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green checkmark | Completed |
| Grey circle | Not completed |
| Orange target | Today's goal, still open |
| Grey padlock | A future day |
Tapping any day shows that goal's details — level, question count, time limit, how many correct answers were required, the XP on offer, and the XP actually awarded. Arrows move between months; history starts in August 2026 and cannot go earlier.
If the goal card does not appear
Daily goals come from Verbie's servers, so they need a connection.
- "Loading today's goal…" with a spinner means the request is in progress. Verbie retries a few times automatically.
- If it stays empty, the customer is offline or the service is briefly unavailable. Everything else in the app still works; leaving the Quiz tab and coming back re-requests the goal.
- Changing Practice Levels changes which levels the goal is generated for, so a goal fetched afterwards may look different.
For support: the goal is keyed to an anonymous device identifier, not an account. A customer moving to a new phone starts a new goal history. There is currently no way to transfer it.
Learning Review
Verbie quietly records every answer, and schedules items to come back using spaced repetition. When items are due, a blue Learning Review card appears:
Learning Review — A focused, untimed practice set
Tapping Start runs a short session of up to 10 questions, drawn from the customer's most overdue category. It is untimed — the header shows a "Review" badge instead of a countdown, so the customer can take as long as they need.
The schedule
| Consecutive correct answers | Next review |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1 day later |
| 2 | 3 days later |
| 3 | 7 days later |
| 4 or more | 14 days later |
A wrong answer resets an item and makes it available again in the next review session.
When the card says "No reviews due"
No reviews due — Keep practising to build your review queue.
This is normal and not an error. It means one of:
- The customer is new and has not answered enough questions yet.
- Everything is scheduled for a future date.
- A review has already been done today. Only one review session is offered per day; the card returns tomorrow.
- The due items are all at levels the customer has since deselected in Practice Levels.
Points to explain to customers
- Review sessions earn XP and count towards the streak like any other quiz.
- A review draws from one category at a time — the one that is most overdue — so it will not feel like a mixed test.
- Because a review is untimed, it is the best way to practise when the timer feels stressful.
- Items removed from the app in an update are dropped from the queue automatically, so the due count can fall after an update.
