Reporting a problem with content

Verbie has thousands of sentences, translations and recordings. When one is wrong — a bad translation, an unnatural sentence, a mispronounced word — the customer can flag it from inside the app, and the report reaches the Verbie team with the exact item identified. This is far more useful than a description in an email, and should be the first thing suggested.

From a Speaker activity

Double-tap the Dutch sentence or word on screen. A Report Problem sheet opens showing the item's level and ID, and three buttons:

Button Use it for
Pronunciation The audio is wrong, mispronounced, clipped or the wrong word
Translation The English meaning is wrong or misleading
Other Anything else — an unnatural sentence, a typo, wrong grammar

Tapping one sends the report immediately and shows Report sent!. If it fails, "Couldn't send the report. Please try again later." appears — a connection is needed.

From a quiz question

Tap the question area to open the question's detail sheet. It shows the level, ID, source file and quiz type, and offers:

  • Problem With This — sends the report directly, the same as above.
  • Send Details — opens the iOS share sheet with the report text, so the customer can email or message it. Use this if the direct send fails.

What gets sent

  • The question or sentence ID and its CEFR level
  • The quiz type and the source the item came from
  • The kind of problem chosen
  • The app version
  • The question's own content, so the team can see exactly what the customer saw

No personal information, no account details, and no voice recordings are included.

Missing audio is reported automatically

If a recording cannot be found during a Speaker activity, Verbie reports it by itself — the customer does not need to do anything. The visible symptom is a shake of the speaker icon, or silence for one item while the rest work. See 11 – Audio, voices and storage.

Pulling a different question

If a question simply looks broken mid-quiz, pull down on the quiz screen to refresh. Verbie swaps in a different question without ending the session. The customer can report the bad one first, then pull to move on.

What support should collect

When a customer reports bad content by email instead of in-app, ask for:

  1. The exact Dutch text as it appeared (a screenshot is ideal).
  2. The quiz category or Speaker activity.
  3. The CEFR level shown on the badge, if visible.
  4. What they expected instead, and why.
  5. Their Voice (Arjen / Ruth) and Voice Speed setting — essential for any pronunciation report, as recordings differ between them.

Then ask them to use the in-app report as well if they can, since it carries the item ID and saves the team from having to search for the sentence.

What is not a content problem

Before logging a content report, rule these out:

Symptom Likelier cause
No audio at all Connection or device volume — see 11
"Correct answer marked wrong" in Number Listening A decimal point instead of a Dutch comma — see 08
"Correct answer marked wrong" in a conjugation quiz A typo, or a different valid form; still worth reporting with the exact typed text
A quiz that will not start Practice Levels too narrow — see 04
Audio in a robotic voice in Translate Expected fallback when no recording exists for that phrase
