There are three levels of deletion, and they're deliberately different sizes. Read before you click: none of them can be undone, and there is no recovery.
Deleting individual conversations
Conversations → History — select conversations and Delete. This permanently removes the selected conversations and their full message history. Everything else in your workspace is untouched.
Use the filters first — Only conversations with no messages is a good way to clear out noise without touching anything real.
Deleting one visitor's data
From a transcript: 🗑 Delete visitor data. Erases everything for that visitor — all of their conversations, messages, uploaded files, AI memory, and their visitor record. This is how you honour a data-deletion request. See Privacy and compliance.
Resetting the whole workspace
Settings → General → Danger Zone → Reset Account Data. This is the big one.
It permanently removes:
- Every conversation and message in the workspace.
- Active chats — terminated immediately, mid-conversation.
- Analytics history tied to those chats.
Optionally, tick to also delete:
- All leads on file (and their activity history).
- All visitor records and Recent Visitors history.
You'll be shown exactly what will go — "1,284 conversations, 96 leads, 412 visitors" — and asked to type DELETE to confirm.
What is not deleted by a reset?
Your knowledge base, Help Center articles, canned responses, flows, products, operators, channels, and settings all survive. A reset clears the conversation record, not the configuration.
To remove knowledge, delete the individual documents, notes, or sources — and remember that deleting a Help Center article also removes it from the chatbot's knowledge.
When would I do this?
- After testing. The single best time — clear the fake conversations before your real ones start, so your analytics mean something.
- Handing a workspace to a client, if you're an agency.
- A data-minimization decision you've made deliberately, with a reason you could explain.
If you only need to stop retaining history going forward, don't reset — lower Chat History Retention instead and let old conversations age out on their own.
