The mobile operator app

Updated October 30, 2026

The Chat Operator app lets you take chats from your phone, with push notifications when a visitor needs a person. Pairing is done by scanning a QR code from the dashboard — you never type a password into the phone.

How do I pair my phone?

  1. Install the Chat Operator app and open it.
  2. In the dashboard, go to Settings → Devices and click Pair device.
  3. In the app, tap Scan QR Code and point it at the screen.

The code expires after a short countdown — if it runs out, generate a new one. Once paired, the phone signs in and appears under Devices.

What can I do from the app?

  • Take and reply to chats, including several at once.
  • Get push notifications for new conversations, for visitors asking to reach a human, and for escalations — even when the app is closed.
  • Switch between workspaces. One paired device follows you across every workspace you belong to; you don't pair again per workspace.

How do I remove a phone?

Settings → Devices, then Remove (or Revoke from the pairing dialog). The phone is signed out immediately. Do this the moment a device is lost or an operator leaves — it's the fastest way to cut off access, and it doesn't disturb anyone else.

Why does a device show as Away or Offline?

Devices report Online, Away, or Offline, with a last-active time. Offline usually just means the app has been backgrounded for a while — push notifications still arrive. It's worth a glance before you rely on someone picking up.
