Paid feature — Basic and Pro.
Conversations → Live Visitors shows who is on your site at this moment: where they are, how many pages they've seen, how long they've been browsing, and whether they've been here before.
What do I see for each visitor?
- Their location, when we can tell.
- Returning · n — how many visits they've made to the site. A returning visitor is a different proposition to a first-timer.
- Pages viewed and how long they've been browsing.
Recent Visitors below shows people who were browsing and have since left.
Can I message someone directly?
Yes, on any paid plan — you don't need an engagement campaign configured for this. Click Message on a visitor, type what you want to say, and Send. It appears to them in the widget.
This is the manual counterpart to automated proactive triggers, and it's worth using differently: automation is for patterns, this is for judgement. Someone on their fourth visit, eight minutes into your pricing page, is worth a sentence from a human.
Why is my Live Visitors list empty?
- Nobody is on the site. Check the timestamp before you assume it's broken.
- You're on the Free plan — Live Visitors requires Basic or Pro.
- Visitor consent is required and hasn't been given. If you've enabled visitor consent, presence tracking stays off until a visitor accepts. The chat itself still works. That's the trade you make for consent-first tracking, and it's the correct one for GDPR audiences.
